Sometimes you want the listener to feel like they’re sitting right next to you as you pour your heart out. Other times, we want them to feel like they’re getting kicked in the teeth.
But no matter how you want them to feel, you need an engineer who won't sand down your edges trying to make everything "radio ready." You need an empathetic collaborator who understands that the goal isn't always clean - sometimes it needs to be powerful. Chaotic. Introspective. Broken. Or maybe a little of each.
I’m Otto - a guitarist, vocalist, and mixer who’s spent years chasing the imperfect balance between chaos and control.
I know what it’s like to write a song that rips you open, and how hard it is to make that emotion survive the recording process.
That’s why I mix like a bandmate, not a technician - because ever since I was a teenager, I’ve been obsessed with that feeling when a song doesn’t just “sound cool” but moves your body AND your soul. And yes, I realize that sounds super cheesy… but if you know, you know.
That’s my goal in every mix.
I'm Otto. Guitarist, vocalist, mixer, and the kind of person who's been down the "how do I make this song hit harder" rabbit hole since I was 15 and saw Foo Fighters live and thought... yeah, this is the only thing I want to do.
I'm not going to pretend I'm the loudest guy in the room. I'm Finnish, a little quieter than most people in this industry, and honestly not great at small talk. But I'm really good at listening to your song and finding the thing that makes it work... even if it's hiding in the track you almost cut from the album.
First, you tell me what the song’s supposed to do to people. Not just “we want it punchy” - I want to know what you were feeling when you wrote it… and what you want someone to feel when they hit play. I’ll listen intently and ask questions (a lot of questions) to make sure I really get it.
Then I start doing the nerdy bits to help the song translate those feelings to the listener.
I don’t sit on mixes for weeks - I like to move fast while the spark’s still alive. If something’s not quite feeling right, I’ll say so. If I think you nailed something, I’ll say that too. Because we’re just two musicians chasing the same goal: making your songs move people in deep, meaningful ways.

What it’s like to work with me
What it’s like to work with me
I’ve just wrapped up two mixing projects with Otto, and I can definitely recommend him. He’s great to work with — very professional but also easygoing and client‑focused. He quickly understood the vibe and aesthetic of the songs, and any changes I asked for were done fast and without hassle.
From start to finish, his communication was top-notch, and his knowledge of music and ear for certain things is very impressive. We barely had to send through any mixing notes for him as his vision for the song was perfect and matched really well with what we wanted. 10/10 would recommend him to anyone.
Otto took the music I produced for a singer-songwriter to the next level. He works hard and quickly found the sound I needed. He’s a great communicator and has a really nice studio as well.
